Meet Our Team
Orthopedic Surgeons
Orthopedic surgeons focus on the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders resulting from injury or disease. Surgery is often performed as a means to restore the function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves or skin. At times the orthopedist may recommend surgery combined with other medical, physical and rehabilitative methods for the greatest outcome. Therefore, the orthopedist consistently works as a team player providing vital information to other physicians.
Orthopedic Surgeon, John T. Moor, M.D.
As Sarasota's only dual fellowship Arthroscopy/Shoulder trained surgeon, Dr. Moor offers a wealth of knowledge to his patients and peers alike. He has been called upon to be a speaker at national conferences, and is among an elite group of surgeons chosen to teach international orthopædic surgeons with the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has been recognized numerous times by the Consumers' Research Council of America as one of America's Top Surgeons. He was elected to the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. His extensive experience, along with his training with the world renowned Steadman-Hawkins Clinic (patients include the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and the US Ski Team) and the University of Iowa Hawkeye's Sports Medicine Center, helped lead to Dr. Moor becoming Florida's orthopædic surgeon of the Cincinnati Reds and his involvement with the WTA Women's Pro Tennis Tour, and the IMG/Bollettieri Sports Academy.
Dr. Moor's passion for sports is not only evident in his professional life, but
also in his personal life. His enthusiasm began as a child and strengthened in
high school when he earned a Division I football scholarship to Kent State
University. Today he spends his free time coaching basketball, baseball and soccer,
and attends local sporting events with his wife and their four children.

Physician Assistants
Physician assistants (PA) are healthcare professionals licensed to practice medicine under the supervision of a physician. PA's have a wide range of responsibilities. With the physician's authorization they may conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, offer advice on preventive healthcare, aid in surgery, and write prescriptions. In regards to the physician-PA relationship, physician assistants are able to exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide an extensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
