Advanced Sportsmedicine Center was founded by Dr. John Moor in 1992. Due to his specialized training, Dr. Moor has had the privilege of instructing many of Sarasota's leading orthopædic surgeons. He has been nationally recognized in his field for his numerous fellowships and extensive training. As with our entire staff, we abide by the latest orthopædic techniques and observe the highest level of practice standards. By doing so, we are able to guarantee each patient superior, specialized orthopædic care from our team of experts.

Advanced Sportsmedicine Center has been providing orthopædic care to Sarasota's finest Athletes for over 15 years! We cater to individuals of all sports and all ages (from children to senior citizens). Whether you're a local, national or international level athlete we guarantee pioneering knowledge and exceptional service. We take pride in our community and therefore dedicate our time and energy to a variety of Sarasota's organizations and athletic groups. Listed below are just a few of our associations:

Local:

Coach various little league teams
Sponsor teams with the Sarasota Senior Softball Association
Set up stretching and injury prevention programs for Sarasota county's middle schools, as requested
Provide an athletic trainer for high school (i.e.: Cardinal Mooney) football, volleyball, soccer, cross county, basketball, softball, baseball, and track & field teams
Conduct educational courses for the hospital, orthopædic nurses and staff
Address worker's compensation companies about new technology
Inform Sarasota Marathon participants about prevention and treatment of common running injuries (i.e.: knee and ankle injuries)
Sponsor charitable events (ie: The Life of Riley Foundation (LORF) athletic activities in order to help raise money for finding a cure for pediatric brain tumors)
Act as a preceptor for various university medical programs (i.e.: FSU, LECOM, Nova Southeastern, Barry University) and executive high school internship programs (i.e.: Riverview, Cardinal Mooney)
Orthopedic Surgeon to minor league football team - the Sarasota Millionaires

National / International:

Lecture to Orthopedic Surgeons on new techniques and procedures in international countries
Donate time teaching classes for the Arthroscopy Association of North American's (AANA) National Learning Center, American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the American Academy of Orthopædic Surgeons (AAOS)
Test and provide valuable feedback on new medical equipment for national medical supply companies
Offer services to world renowned IMG/Bollettieri Sports Academy
Provide services to the Cincinnati Reds
